This is a League-inspired ladder adapted for a wheel, with its own published formula. The wheel is a game of chance: rank does not improve the odds. No money, wagers or cash prizes are involved.
Every account starts at Rust IV with 0 LP and a hidden rating of 400 (MMR). MMR tracks ranked results and helps adjust point gains; it never changes your odds on the wheel. LP swings grow with the number of players at the start of the match. With equal ratings and no rank gap, first/last-place changes are about ±10 LP for 2 players, ±17 for 4, ±25 for 8, ±33 for 16, ±42 for 32 and ±50 for 64 or more. Surviving more eliminations reduces your LP loss. With 8 equally rated players and no rank gap, the first four eliminated lose about 25, 13, 6 and 1 LP respectively. Top-half finishes gain LP, and an exact middle finish may adjust slightly. These examples describe Steel Spinner and higher at standard event rates. Rust loses no LP. Loose Bolt and Copper Cog lose half, rounded down. Once you reach 400 LP, you cannot fall back into Rust.
Normal spins award no LP and do not change your ranked rating or match statistics. Linked Twitch wins are counted separately. Only completed Ranked matches earn or deduct LP through gameplay; normal spins, other elimination modes and mod !draw do not. Previously earned points remain in your total.
The expected score E is the average of 1 / (1 + 10^((opponent MMR − player MMR) / 400)). The placement score P is (players − place) / (players − 1). MMR changes by round(K × (P − E)), where K is 64 for the first five games and 32 thereafter.
First calculate the base LP change: round(25 × (2P − 1) + 12 × (0.5 − E) + clamp((MMR − total LP − 400) / 100, −10, 10)). Bound the base to +1…+50 for top-half finishes, −50…−1 for bottom-half finishes, or −16…+16 for an exact middle finish. Multiply its magnitude by clamp(log₂(starting players) / 3, 0.4, 2). If the change is negative, also multiply by (1 − P)²: the more opponents you outlast, the smaller the loss. Then round once to the nearest whole point and restore its sign. The base adjustment has a minimum of 1 LP. Event multipliers and beginner protection are then applied; these can reduce the final change to zero. These factors use the locked starting roster and elimination order. Spin duration and pauses do not affect LP. The owner can set separate event multipliers for LP gains and losses. Rates are locked when a ranked match starts, and do not alter MMR. Rust has no losses; Loose Bolt and Copper Cog apply a further 50% reduction to losses. Fractional losses round down. Final balances stay between 0 and 100,000 LP, with a permanent 400 LP floor after leaving Rust. Previously saved results keep their original points.
Rust through Fortune Weaver each have four divisions. Wheel Sovereign starts at 2,800 total LP. Fatebreaker starts at 3,200. Top 10 Wheelmasters requires at least 3,600 total LP and a current global position of 1–10. Ties are resolved by wins, fewer games, then Twitch ID. Losing that place returns a player to Fatebreaker; their LP remains.
Each ranked spin randomly selects one remaining player to knock out. Your rank never changes your chance of winning. Results are saved after a completed match; cancelling awards no points. Connect the same Twitch channel to resume your unfinished match on another device. Hosts manage their entrants using Twitch chat.
